Macau’s inflation increased by 1.59%

Macau’s inflation increased by 1.59%  in September (compared to 2015). Higher cost of eating out and food products (+2.04%). Higher rentals for parking spaces. Higher prices for new vehicles. Higher prices for transportation (+7.84%). However, prices for clothing (-2.94%) and culture activities (-2.33%) were shown to decrease.

21st MIF is officially opened

The 21st Macau International Trade and Investment Fair (MIF) has begun with 50 participating countries and regions. 1,600 exhibition booths. 134 booths from Portuguese-speaking countries. Macau’s government spent MOP 34 million (US$ 4.25 million) on the MIF.

Macau’s Cotai: A city within a city

In 2002, the Macau government ended a 40-year gaming monopoly held by Stanley Ho’s STDM and granted gaming concessions and later, subconcessions to a total of six operators. Today, on just 5.9 sq km of land, 4 gaming operators (soon to be 6) built mega-hotels, casinos and entertainment venues, as featured in this video.
