The Lands, Public Works and Transport Bureau (DSSOPT) said in a statement Tuesday that the renovation project to turn a building in Avenida do Conselheiro Ferreira de Almeida into a Government Headquarters branch office will take up to 326 days.
The bureau unsealed bids submitted by 15 companies for the renovation project yesterday. Among the 15 bids submitted, 13 were accepted and one was rejected, while the bureau conditionally accepted the remaining one – but the statement did not mention what the company will have to do for its bid to be finally accepted.
The statement said that the bureau expects the renovation project to get off the ground in the fourth quarter of this year.
The building for the office is located at No. 105 of the thoroughfare that runs from Rua do Campo to Avenida do Coronel Mesquita, according to the statement.
The building, a three-storey house, is located near the junction of Avenida do Conselheiro Ferreira de Almeida and Avenida de Horta e Costa.
According to the statement, the building, which is next to the public Lou Lim Ieoc Garden, has a gross area of 840 square metres.
The project will include internal renovation and refurbishment of the outer wall, the statement said.
According to the statement, the renovation project quotations proposed by the 14 bidders range from 9.8 million patacas to 15.6 million patacas.
The bureau announced that it was inviting bids for the renovation project in the middle of last month.
The current Government Headquarters consists of a compound comprising the erstwhile Governor’s Palace in Avenida da Praia Grande and a rear building in Rua de S. Lourenço.
