The 38th Macao Young Musicians Competition will start on August 15, the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) said in a statement on Wednesday.
The competition’s organiser said in the statement that the competition is for the categories of Chinese and Western Instruments and Vocal Music.
The application period ended on April 21, and more than 600 residents signed up for the competition, the statement noted.
The provisional competition schedule is now available on the Macao Young Musicians Competition website (www.icm.gov.mo/cjmm).
According to the statement, the event’s “Competition” will be held from August 15 to 30, while the “Special Prizes Competition” will be held on September 6 at the Macao Museum of Art in Avenue Xian Xing Hai and the Healthy Life Education Centre of the Social Welfare Bureau in Rua Nova da Areia Preta.
The order of the performances will be decided through electronic ballot.
According to the statement, all participants must register at the venue during the designated period by showing their original Macau ID cards, and perform according to the allotted order.
In case of exceptional circumstances which require the order of performances to be changed, participants are required to complete and submit the “Request for Change of Competition Order” together with their supporting documents in person at the Cultural Affairs Bureau headquarters in Praça do Tap Seac during office hours on or before June 12, according to the statement.
Concerning the COVID-19 epidemic, the bureau will make relevant adjustments to the two contests, and take corresponding anti-epidemic measures if needed, the statement said.
