The legislature passed the outline of a government-initiated bill on the framework for the management of Macau’s coastal waters which proposes that no gaming projects be allowed on land newly reclaimed from the sea.
The government has established a committee with the aim of promoting the development and improvement of the management of the city’s coastal waters, according to an announcement in the Official Gazette on Monday.
The government will launch a public consultation on Tuesday about a bill regulating Macau’s coastal waters – the Marine Areas Management Framework Law, which will end on December 14.
