The government has decided to impose a permanent ban on the import and sale of live poultry in Macau from today, according to a statement by the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau (IACM).

Live poultry imports to Macau will cease permanently due to concerns over the bird flu virus, Secretary for Administration and Justice Sonia Chan said on Thursday.
Secretary for Administration and Justice Sonia Chan Hoi Fan said on Tuesday that the government has not yet come up with a timetable to resume the sale of live poultry.
